Thank you ImageMagick for saving me from a lot of tedious work.
My company just finished a 1 year construction project. Prior to the project beginning we placed 2 webcams at different angles of the build site. The cameras were set to record a photo every minute. Now it's my job to turn that into a time lapse.
The problem was that I didn't want the video to go dark at night. With roughly 750,000 photos to go through, I wanted an easy way to remove the dark ones... ImageMagik to the rescue. A batch command using the (identify -format [mean]) command, I was able to find the mean brightness of each photo and delete it if it was below a certain level.
Post here to shower the ImageMagick developers with praise or discuss how you could have done a better job if you developed ImageMagick. Or talk about how Photoshop is better than ImageMagick. Even complain about how no one answered your postings in the Users forum. Venting and musings welcomed here.
